Recommended Walking Route from the Train Stations
(Purple Line)
A. Manchester Oxford Road Train Station (6 minutes)
Turn right onto Whitworth Street West.
Turn immediate right onto Oxford Road, heading South away from the city centre.
Go under the railway bridge and the Mancunian Way flyover.
Turn left onto Sidney Street and follow the blue “King’s Church” pedestrian signs around to the right.
B. Manchester Piccadilly Train Station (18 minutes)
From the Fairfield Street exit (by the taxi rank), turn right onto Fairfield Street. Cross London Road.
Take the left bend onto Whitworth Street.
Turn left onto Oxford Road, heading South away from the city centre. Go under the railway bridge and the Mancunian Way flyover.
Turn left onto Sidney Street and follow the blue “King’s Church” pedestrian signs around to the right.

On-Street Parking
Sidney Street has free parking bays, restricted to 2 hours on weekdays 8am to 6pm. York Street, Lower Ormond Street, Higher Ormond Street and Lower Chatham Street also have free 2 hour parking bays. Please read parking restriction signs carefully and avoid double yellow lines on all streets.
By Train
Manchester Oxford Road Train Station
The walking route is described above. King’s House is on the right side of Sidney Street, opposite the entrance to Sugden Sports Centre.
Manchester Piccadilly Train Station
Leave the station by the Fairfield Street exit (by the taxi rank). The walking route is described above. King’s House is on the right side of Sidney Street, opposite the entrance to Sugden Sports Centre.
The alternatives to walking are to get a taxi or the 147 bus. The bus stop is on Fairfield Street and the 147 runs every 10 minutes weekdays from here along Whitworth Street and then Oxford Road. The closest bus stop to King’s House is the Aquatics Centre.
Manchester Victoria Train Station
Manchester Victoria Train Station is on the North of the city centre. It is best to get a train to Manchester Oxford Road Train Station, a Metrolink tram to Piccadilly Gardens and then go by bus, or a Metrolink tram to Manchester Piccadilly Train Station.

Oxford Road is a main bus corridor into the city centre. The closest Oxford Road bus stops to King’s House are these: the Aquatics Centre (heading South away from the city centre) and All Saints’ Park (heading North towards the city centre).

From Upper Brook Street (A34), turn onto Grosvenor Street. Go along Grosvenor Street past The Flour & Flagon, on the right, then turn right onto Oxford Road. Turn right at the next junction, between MMU Institute of Sport and The Eighth Day cafe, just before the Mancunian Way flyover, onto Sidney Street. Go around to the right and King’s House is on the right side, opposite the entrance to Sugden Sports Centre.
